Tola is 9 years old. We rescued her 4 years ago in Bogota along with her inseparable sister, Maruja, who died of cancer a few months after her rescue. She lived her whole life on the streets, exposed to the sun and rain, which is why she has chronic arthritis, affecting her hips and front legs, which are deformed and painful. Tola has a peculiar habit: she eats toys, necklaces, or anything small left on the ground. Because of this, she has had two surgeries in the last two years due to intestinal obstructions. Thanks to timely treatment, both procedures were successful: the first with surgery and the second with endoscopic removal of the obstructed pieces. To prevent this from happening, she can't have toys near her and must wear a muzzle to stop her from eating anything. She is also very much in love with Sam and never leaves his side.
